From Nothingness to Everything: Navigating Your Potential
The 10 Phases of Te Kore
Te Kore is often translated as “The Void,” but in the Staying Safe and Sane framework, it is the Realm of Infinite Potential. It is the quiet, sacred space where your new life is dreamed into being before it is lived.
Whether you are a survivor reclaiming your sovereignty or a Kaitiaki standing guard for others, Te Kore is your map back to the Source.
1. For Whānau: Tending to Your Potential
When you have experienced violence or control, it can feel as though you have been reduced to “nothing.” In our framework, being in “The Nothing” is actually the most powerful place to be—it means the old, heavy scripts have been cleared away, and you are ready to begin again.
How to navigate the 10 Voids:
- Acknowledge the Spark (Te Kore Tuatahi): Even if it is just a tiny whisper saying, “I deserve peace,” that is your first phase of creation. Honor that whisper.
- Tend to Your Secret Garden (Te Kore Tuahotu): Build a foundation that is just for you. This might be a private journal, a quiet thought, or a secure space only you know.
- Releasing the False Names (Te Kore Tuakore): You are not the labels others gave you. Use this space to gently let go of their words until only your true, bright self remains.
- Preparing for the Light (Te Kore Tuangahuru): When you feel the first stirrings of a plan for your new life, you are standing on the brink of manifestation.
Whānau Tip: Use the stillness of the early morning (4:00 AM Kawa) to sit in your own Te Kore. In the silence before the world wakes up, you can hear your own heart without the noise of the world interfering.
2. For Kaitiaki: The Practice of Presence
As a Kaitiaki, your role is to be the steward of another’s potential. You are not there to “fill the void” for them, but to protect the space so they can fill it with their own light.
Your Practice:
Guarding the Sacred Transition: Ensure that the journey from potential into planning is handled with absolute care. We keep the vision safe and private until it is strong enough to stand in the light.
Attuning to Readiness: Use the 10 phases to sense where a soul is sitting. If a client is at the very first spark, do not rush them. Simply hold the space for that spark to grow.
Clearing the Noise: Your primary work is to gently move aside the “Systemic Noise” (interference and control) that is trying to flood the client’s quiet space.

A Note on “Te Pito”
Your Pito is your sacred connection to your ancestors, your land, and your inner power. Sometimes, life’s interferences can make that connection feel tight or thin. We work together to clear those tangles, allowing your life-force to flow freely from the Source and out into the Light.
